Thermodynamic Designer Location: Venlo
Have you ever heard of CrystalPoint ® Technology?
Océ produces the world's fastest and most productive digital printer systems. For instance, based on Océ CrystalPoint® technology, our wide format systems combine bright colors, speed and scalability to take applications of the customer to new heights. At our own R&D locations, with 1500 employees worldwide, all these products are invented and engineered. Our main Mechanical Development departments are located in Venlo. These departments are responsible for the mechanical, mechatronic and thermodynamic designs within our print systems. For one of these departments we are looking for a thermodynamic designer, who has the ambition to bring in innovative print system solutions and is looking for a job where market and customers always directly influence the technical concepts.
What is your job about?
Thermodynamics play a crucial role in the development of Océ Printers. Heat, for instance, is necessary to fixate and dry ink on to paper, cold air plays a role in the cooling of paper.
As a thermodynamic designer, you are working in a multidisciplinary project. This means that your thermodynamic design has to fit in an overall multidisciplinary design. Within your team you are responsible for problems about the air, heat and energy management in a print system. Therefore you use your knowledge of thermodynamics and modeling to create a concept and/or solve a problem within the boundaries set by the project. As a thermodynamic designer, you come up with keen design solutions that make our printers more sustainable.
You are looking for a job where you have a lot of freedom in designing solutions. Thereby you see it as a challenge to improve our current thermodynamic designs.
Is this the job you are looking for?
• You hold a Msc. in the field of thermodynamics, or you are a PhD.
• Thereby you like to design solutions and you have an extended knowledge of thermodynamic processes and modeling. You are able to convert this knowledge into concepts, and into working solutions. Also, you are acquainted with subjects around energy efficiency.
• You can describe yourself as entrepreneurial, communicative, proactive and quality oriented.
• Also, you like to work in a team. In your role you take your responsibility regarding thermodynamic problems and you are able to discuss multidisciplinary designs with team members from the other disciplines.
