Opportunities for the Noord-Brabant region and the ambition for 2023 (to become the number 1 data-tech region in Europe) have led the Province to stimulate the smart application of data within the High Tech SME sector. The competitive position of industry is more and more determined by the extent of collaboration in the areas of design, fabrication and maintenance of products and manufacturing processes. In this context, the Province has recently granted a subsidy to the innovation project Digital Factory of the Future, which responds to this need from industry. KMWE and ten other companies and 3 knowledge institutes (TNO, TU/e HTSC, Fontys) will also invest in this project and will jointly research, apply and combine existing data-driven Smart Industry innovations and work on a blueprint for data sharing within and between companies. The Digital Factory will set up a testing and development environment for current and future partners to develop new applications and business models.
The project will officially kick-off in January 2020.
