As a manufacturing engineer you will become part of the product development team of Macawi. Within Macawi, technology is developed and maintained (e.g. Macawi Respiratory Module and blower) which is currently being sold to multiple customers worldwide who have integrated this in their respiratory systems. This product needs to be further developed and optimized in terms of performance & cost and managed looking at operational issues. The operational issues can arise from either planned end of life issues or production related items.

An average day will be in the office in Best where there will be a balance between office work and lab work depending on the actual work to be undertaken (documentation, programming, testing). Working in the office is required to stimulate the interaction with the other team members as reaching goals are typically teamwork.

As part of the job also regular visits (2/3 times per month) to the production facility in Enschede or suppliers is required.

Task & responsibilities

• Manage product lifecycle items e.g. end of life. To be able to do this a hands-on mentality is required, expertise with Matlab & Simulink and integration & testing is desired;
• Come up with, manage and implement improvements (e.g. cost) on the product whereby holding an overview on all disciplines.
• Solving problems with minimum changes to the existing product
• Understand customer or production problems and report and resolve them with the other members of development team
• Participate in product development and production related meetings (e.g. production CCB);
• Prepare documentation such as technical files, product release documents, troubleshooting guides, manuals, parts lists and work instructions
• Have a role and an opinion on configuration management of the product

• Minimum Bsc degree, e.g. mechatronic;
• Minimum of 5-10 years of work experience;
• Experience with the interaction between a production and development environment;
• Getting energy from solving operational issues and getting energy of optimizing a product on e.g. cost
• Being able to overview the system and disciplines involved in the development;
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
