As a Medior Engineer Configuration Management, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the consistency, traceability, and integrity of product configurations throughout the entire shipbuilding lifecycle — from proposal and design to delivery and beyond.

You will be central to the engineering process, guiding configuration procedures, maintaining compliance, and enabling technical excellence across multiple projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and implementing Configuration Management Plans (CMPs) for large-scale engineering projects.
  • Setting up and maintaining product structures, master document lists, and data environments.
  • Validating incoming and outgoing technical data from customers and suppliers.
  • Ensuring strong change control processes and monitoring implementation across departments.
  • Working with PDM/PLM systems (preferably 3DX) to structure and manage complex technical data.
  • Providing guidance and training to project teams on configuration management best practices.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements and defining future-proof strategies.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders from engineering, production, quality, and project management to ensure smooth alignment.

Skills & experience

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably with experience in shipbuilding or the maritime industry.
  • Proven experience in configuration management and familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (ideally 3DX).
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail when handling complex data structures.
  • Proactive, structured, and improvement-oriented working style.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and interpret technical data clearly.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are required due to the military nature of the projects. Candidates holding EU work visas or dual EU/non-EU nationalities are not eligible.

What we offer

  • A salary between €4.000,- and €5.300,- depending on experience and knowledge
  • 8% holiday pay.
  • 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days.
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre.
  • Flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.
