The TNC7 from HEIDENHAIN features a new graphical probing function for measuring any workpiece, including complex free-form parts in minimal time. Twaalf jaar geleden introduceerde HEIDENHAIN de eerste absolute open lineaire encoder, de LIC 4000 en een paar jaar later volgde zijn kleine broertje, de LIC 2100. Met de LIC 3100 breiden we onze LIC-familie uit en vullen voor wat betreft de interpolatiefout het gat tussen 1000 nm van de LIC 2100 en 20 nm van de LIC 4100. Rotary axes of machine tools come in many shapes and sizes. The spectrum ranges from small and very quickly rotating axes, as in grinding spindles for gear grinding, to very large rotary tables, as found in gantry-type lathes. But one day, the twelve-man operation near Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria received an offer to produce parts for a lunar rover. The new LIP 6000 exposed linear encoder from HEIDENHAIN, featuring interferential scanning, enables exceptionally accurate position measurement as well as permanently reliable signals, all within in a compact design. With a very small interpolation error of only ±3 nm, a low noise level of just 1 nm RMS, and a baseline error of less than ±0.175 µm at a 5 mm interval, this encoder is predestined for applications requiring constant speed control or high positioning stability at standstill.

HEIDENHAIN has developed angle encoder modules for very high measuring accuracy. They combine highly accurate angle encoders and high-precision bearings, and they are a true alternative to air-bearing axes regarding reproducible guideway accuracy. The integration of a torque motor with a very low detent torque is now the logical step forward in this solution. The angle encoder modules with integrated drive motor are compact, perfectly matched systems to master the tasks of motion, control and measurement with specified high accuracy in sophisticated applications.
The new HEIDENHAIN-SPECTO ST 3087 RC length gauge is particularly well suited for applications under harsh ambient conditions, e.g. in metal-cutting production areas. It has special protection for its sensitive measuring technology. For example, measuring processes with a maximum deviation of ±1 μm at a measuring range of 30 mm can take place directly in the production process, instead of removing them to quality islands or laboratories. This saves time and money through significantly reduced time, cost and transportation.

Destruction-free, non-tactile measuring principles are common, but these mostly optical measuring methods cannot match the precision of tactile encoders with photoelectric scanning. The great challenge is the development of a measuring device that combines high accuracy with destruction-free measurement. HEIDENHAIN has solved this problem with its new METRO 1281 MW length gauge.
