Since early 2021, family business Jan Reijm & Zn in Zevenhuizen has been growing high-wire cucumbers year-round on an area of 11 hectares, of which half is lighted. This results in a production of 1.1 million cucumbers in the top weeks. During the realization of the conversion at this location, from a tomato crop to a cucumber crop, it soon became clear that, in addition to an efficient harvest processing, also a high sorting and pelleting capacity was needed. After developing and selling SortiPack®️ for (beef) tomatoes, pointed peppers and chicory, Crux now also offers a complete end-to-end automation solution for handling Cucumbers. All grading, sorting and packing is done by computer vision and AI guided Robotics. Different sorting classes and packaging types can be handled simultaneously, including different stacking patterns. The AI algorithms optimize the uniformity of grading including giveaway weight and enable full track-and-traceability. Crux Agribotics has therefore been working on the SortiPack® Sweet Pointed Peppers, a fully automated system for grading, sorting and packing sweet pointed peppers into crates, trays (flow packs) and bags. The Pandora is an in-line inspection system capable of measuring the glass thickness and bottom concavity of vials. These dimensions are mentioned in ISO8366-1-2018(E) as ‘S2’ and ‘t’. Measurements are performed optically with no need for physical contact and thus preventing any possible damage. Eindhoven werd op de kaart gezet door Philips en een belangrijk deel van de huidige bedrijvigheid is daar nog steeds direct of indirect aan gelinkt.
In de tachtiger jaren van de vorige eeuw was Philips één van de pioniers op het gebied van machine vision, een combinatie van cameratechnologie en software.
Ruim 30 jaar verder is in Eindhoven en nabije omgeving een belangrijk stuk van de toegepaste cameratechnologie gevestigd. Voor ons heel normaal, maar goed beschouwd eigenlijk best opmerkelijk.
Echte waar voor je geld, wie wil dat niet? En echt geld voor je waren, dat is net zo belangrijk! Om zekerheid te hebben van de echtheid of authenticiteit van een product of waardepapier hebben we heel lang geleden al trucs bedacht. Een alom bekende vorm van een echtheidskenmerk is het watermerk in waardepapieren zoals bankbiljetten.
Voor het tweede jaar op rij behoort One of A Kind Technologies tot de snelst groeiende ondernemingen van Nederland, en daar zijn we trots op!

De Brabantse start-up Crux Agribotics heeft ’s werelds eerste volautomatische oogstrobot voor kaskomkommers ontwikkeld. Uniek aan de robot is dat het ook de exemplaren oogst die diep verstopt zitten tussen de bladeren van de komkommerplant. De robot maakt gebruik van een zelflerend algoritme, waardoor het onder andere zelfstandig kan bepalen welke komkommers rijp zijn om te plukken en of komkommers ziekten bevatten. De techniek van 3D beeldinname bestaat al meer dan twintig jaar, toch bestond de vraag voor toepassing daarvan maar mondjesmaat. De markt is er blijkbaar niet zo mee bezig geweest tot op heden, maar dat lijkt te veranderen. In de afgelopen drie maanden kregen we opvallend vaak de vraag: ‘kunnen jullie mijn machine variabel aansturen door middel van een lijnscan?” Toch een behoefte dus.
Dat is alvast zeker en wordt meteen ook het enige kenmerkende feature aan de buitenkant.

Uw OEE verbeteren levert direct geld op!
Deze blog benoemt mogelijkheden om met automatisering de verliezen te reduceren, in het bijzonder in het begin, dáár waar de verliezen ontstaan, in het proces.
Waar staat OEE voor?
Letterlijk betekent het Overall Equipment Efficiency, praktisch gezien is OEE een percentage wat aangeeft hoe de actuele productie-output is ten opzichte van de maximaal haalbare output.
In de berekening van dit percentage speelt een aantal factoren een rol, het best uitgelegd in een plaatje:
Als geen ander brengt Richard de tijdslijn in beeld waaruit blijkt in welke stroomversnelling Beltech terecht is gekomen, vier jaar na de overname door One of A Kind Technologies.
Naast de inhoudelijke machine-vision kennis en markten van Beltech en haar zusterbedrijven Smart Vision Center en Vimec maakte vooral het verhaal achter de startup Crux Agribotics veel indruk op het publiek.

Gemak dient de mens: het vak met kant en klare maaltijden is niet meer weg te denken uit de supermarkt.
Voor mensen met weinig tijd of even geen inspiratie is er keuze uit meerdere varianten met aardappelen, groenten en een stukje vlees. Of denk aan de maaltijdsalade, samengesteld met croutons, stukjes kip en een dressing, toch handig als je met beperkte tijd vers wilt koken.
Deze blog gaat in op de verschillen die bestaan tussen een CAD-model en het werkelijke stalen onderdeel zoals u het toegeleverd krijgt. Het onderwerp is vooral interessant voor lassers die de huidige stand der techniek volgen en vanuit een CAD model een lasprogramma maken. Of eigenlijk beter, lassers die erover denken om het lasprogramma automatisch te genereren.

Het gebruik van staal in constructies is nog steeds de standaard.
Staal is sterk, goedkoop, makkelijk te bewerken en goed te lassen, maar heeft, met name in de buitenlucht last van corrosie.
De meestgebruikte corrosiewering is een verflaag die het kwetsbare staaloppervlak beschermt tegen invloeden die zuurstof en water, vaak geholpen zoor pekel en zout, op het metaal uitoefenen.
