One of the first AI projects to be certified under EU standards

Over the past six years, experienced Demcon systems engineer Bas Vet has worked on many different groundbreaking technological solutions. Currently, he is leading an endoscopy automation project, which involves developing a smart robot to automatically control a laparoscope, a surgical camera inserted into the abdominal cavity by means of a minimally invasive procedure. The main challenge the team is facing now is to ensure optimum visibility of the surgical instrument at all times. As a systems engineer, Bas Vet has a crucial role to play, ensuring the seamless integration of the various components by overseeing all the engineering disciplines involved.
