June 23rd, Mitutoyo’s Research Center Europe participated in the opening ceremony of Mitutoyo’s Semiconductor Competence Center in Dresden. Fulco Verheul and Shimpei Matsuura elaborated the audience on RCE’s market driven innovation for the semiconductor industry. They gave a sneak preview of what is in the R&D pipeline. A functional model of our digital holography sensor was demonstrated. The sensor makes height maps of the semiconductor microstructures, detects contamination by particles thereby addressing several challenges in the semiconductor technology roadmap.
It was a very successful event, with representatives of the City of Dresden, the State of Saxony and industry leaders.
