Capturing plasma dynamics that unfold in billionths of a second requires more than conventional imaging

We’re pleased to highlight the work of Dr. Milan Šimek and colleagues at the Czech Academy of Sciences, who investigated transient streamer-spark discharges at the air-water interface. To study these fast plasma events, the team used the PI-MAX4 ICCD, leveraging nanosecond-scale gating to visualize transient discharge behavior and support emission spectroscopy measurements.
