How do hydrogen atoms interact with graphene at the smallest timescales?

Researchers have now generated sub-nanosecond H atom pulses (~700 ps) intense enough to probe scattering from single-crystal epitaxial graphene. This breakthrough reveals both quasi-elastic and strongly inelastic scattering channels, opening new possibilities for studying transient bond formation on 2D materials.
