Het platform bestaat uit de website DutchHTS.nl, de High Tech Systems groep op LinkedIN, dutchhts op Twitter, Facebook en Instagram. Eind dit jaar start TNO met de bouw van een proeffabriek voor fotonische chips op de High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. Deze nieuwe fabriek maakt de productie van Indiumfosfide (InP) gebaseerde fotonische chips op industriële schaal mogelijk. Daarnaast maakt de opschaling van 4-inch naar 6-inch wafers de productie efficiënter. In a highly secured lab in the Netherlands, ASML spent a decade developing a $400 million machine that’s transforming how microchips are made. High NA is the latest generation of EUV, the only machines in the world that can etch nanoscopic blueprints on advanced chips for giants like Intel, TSMC and Samsung. The size of a double-decker bus, only five of these machines have been shipped so far. It’s unclear how Trump’s tariffs will impact the complex global supply chain for the lithography machines. Elektrische vliegtuigen lijken voorlopig nog altijd grotendeels toekomstmuziek. Dat heeft een simpele reden: batterijen zijn veel te zwaar. Een vliegtuig dat op stroom vliegt, zou het grootste deel van zijn gewicht immers moeten gebruiken voor energieopslag in plaats van passagiers. Maar daar komt misschien verandering in. Onderzoekers van MIT hebben een nieuwe technologie ontwikkeld die deze hindernis misschien zou kunnen overwinnen. Tijdens klantgesprekken hoor ik geregeld: “Dat kan toch wel automatisch?” Vaak wordt de vraag gesteld voordat helder is wat er nu precies geautomatiseerd moet worden, hoe het proces eruitziet en waarom het überhaupt op deze manier bestaat. Daarom reageer ik meestal “automatisch wel, maar niet automagisch”. In de maakindustrie, waar snelheid en nauwkeurigheid cruciaal zijn, ligt verleiding op de loer om alles met een druk op de knop te willen regelen. PLM‑software wordt daarbij soms gezien als toverdrank. Maar automatiseren zonder eerst te organiseren, structureren en digitaliseren is als een motor op een wankel frame installeren: je gaat misschien vooruit, maar het eindigt gegarandeerd in een crash.
