Tiny insect-inspired robot can perform death-defying acrobatics

For tiny flying robots to make nimble manoeuvers, they need to be lightweight and agile, but also be capable of withstanding large forces. The high forces mean that most tiny insect robots can only fly for around twenty seconds before breaking, which makes it difficult to collect enough data to properly calibrate and test the robot’s flying abilities.
