What makes this tricky is that it is rarely just one factor. In many BOMs we see a mix of
* price volatility in key semiconductors (like memory)
* allocation risk and lead time swings
* tariff exposure and regional supply constraints
* last-minute redesigns because a “standard” part turns out not to be stable for long-term supply
